JOCELYN HU x POWERADE
Celebrating Las Vegas swimmer and newly minted silver medalist, Katie Grimes, for the 2024 Summer Olympics - POWERADE partnered with JOCELYN HU to create exclusive merchandise to help fans cheer Grimes on as she competes in Paris.
The limited run collection references Grime’s passions in and out of the pool.
Collection launch: August 2024

The collaboration includes 6x custom creations: a hero garment spotlighting Grime’s passion for working on vintage cars with her dad + bucket hats, Grime’s favorite accessory. All of the pieces are highlighted in an IG promo video.
The hero garment is a custom mechanic-inspired coverall created from upcycled USA merch and vintage POWERADE items.
The jumpsuit flares into a bell bottom - a mix of modern workwear with a classic 70’s flare. It references USA and water drop motifs and honors her hometown of Las Vegas. Three star studs are used to represent the three events Grimes competed in in the 2024 Olympics.
INSPIRED BY GRIME’S LOVE FOR CARS. Bucket hat with vintage merch patchwork and a detachable toy car belt along brim.
INSPIRED BY GRIME’S LOVE FOR SNEAKERS. Bucket hat upcycled from a pair of shoes with lacing details on top.
INSPIRED BY VINTAGE 70’S SWIM CAPS. Swim cap with hand-sewn flowers upcycled from merch. Reminiscent of vintage swim cap designs in the 70’s and a nod to Grime’s love for 70’s rock music.
INSPIRED BY GRIME’S DUALITY. Bucket hat upcycled from distressed denim with swimmer motifs along brim. Grimes is the first American women to compete in both pool and open water swimming at the same Olympic Games.
INSPIRED BY LAS VEGAS. Bucket hat with custom day-to-night Las Vegas detailing. Real sand is used to capture her hometown swim team, the Sandpipers, and the desert lands of Vegas.
