JOCELYN HU x Phoenix Mercury AAPI Night
In celebration of the Phoenix Mercury’s first AAPI Night, JOCELYN HU partnered with the team to design an exclusive fan t-shirt and led a sewing workshop with the Mercury’s Asian network.
Promotion included an interview highlighting the collaboration and in-arena shoutout. The merch was available exclusively at the in-arena Team Shop, and completely sold out that night.
Campaign launch: May 2025

Design Details
Lanterns: In many Asian cultures, lanterns represent hope and new beginnings. Selected designs from a few of these communities to reflect a shared spirit of renewal.
Home: On the front of the shirt, Mom wrote “Phoenix Mercury” in Chinese and Dad wrote it in English. This was designed to honor all the immigrant families who have sacrificed so much to be in Arizona.
DIY Paper Lantern: A reference to the arts and crafts parents would teach their children to help them stay connected to their roots. Simple things like origami, paper lanterns, and folded chopstick holders taught finding creativity in the everyday - transforming ordinary scraps into small acts of art.
